Dr. Magdy Elkhashab Fund 

Dr. Magdy Elkhashab is a liver disease specialist with extensive training in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Hepatology. He completed medical school at Cairo University, earned a Master’s in Immunology from the University of Western Ontario, and received advanced clinical training at the University of Toronto. He also worked for seven years at the Liver Study Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital.

In 1998, Dr. Elkhashab founded the Toronto Liver Centre, where he continues to focus on patient care, teaching, and research. He is a staff member at North York General Hospital and an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Elkhashab established Canada’s first FibroScan Program, which uses non-invasive technology to diagnose and monitor liver disease. This program now serves patients across multiple GTA locations and is an important tool for improving patient outcomes.
