Annual Indigenous Spirit Bear Award winners announced

Spirit Bear and the Caring Society are excited to announce the winners and honourable mentions for the Spirit Bear Award for 2023!

We are grateful to the Olive Tree Foundation (Mohamed and Opheera Nasir Endowment Fund) for their generous annual contribution to the Spirit Bear Award!

Congratulations to Grizzly Bear, K.I.D.S. Inc. at École Sir William Osler, and to the students at Sir Alexander Mackenzie (SAM) School! We also want to honourably mention The Pas 4H Club (Helping Hands) and St. Michael Fitzroy's Kindergarten Class. Thank you for demonstrating your commitment to reconciliation and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's Calls to Action!

The Spirit Bear Award is an annual award of First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada and goes to a group of young people who demonstrate their commitment to reconciliation and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action. Created in 2019, the Spirit Bear Award is named in honour of Spirit Bear, who is a symbol of reconciliation and equity for kids
