The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him."

For more than six decades, Adill and Shirool Haniff have shared a life built on faith, family, and service. Blessed with six children — Fazeela, Shameeza, Afzal, Zaieeda, Abid, and Abeeda — their family has since grown to include seventeen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, all of whom look to them as shining role models.

Adill worked tirelessly in many roles, from his early days with the Raymond Brothers of Vreed-en-Hoop, to driving taxi, serving with CIOG, and later continuing his service in Canada. Shirool devoted herself to raising their children and creating a home filled with love, faith, and resilience, while also stepping forward in times of need to support the family. Together, they embodied sacrifice, humility, and perseverance.

At the heart of their lives has always been Islam. They were deeply devoted to their faith, active in attending community gatherings, and among the steadfast supporters of the La Grange Masjid in Guyana. Their commitment to deen and their example of living Islam in everyday life became a source of inspiration not only for their children but also for the generations that followed.

It is this love for Islam — and the example they set — that moved their children and grandchildren to establish the Adill & Shirool Haniff Family Fund. Created as a form of sadaqah jariyah (everlasting charity), this fund reflects their legacy of faith and ensures that the good they inspired will continue to benefit the community for generations to come, In shā’ Allāh.

We ask Allah ﷻ to accept all the good deeds of Adill and Shirool Haniff, to make this fund a source of ongoing reward for them, to grant them barakah in their progeny, and to reunite their family in the highest ranks of Jannah al-Firdaws. Āmīn.
