Muneeb Nasir – Chair

Muneeb Nasir Is a Muslim religious leader, writer, and interfaith activist who is respected for his knowledge and involvement in religious and current affairs.

Muneeb is the Chair of the Olive Tree Foundation and former Co-Chair of the National Muslim Christian Liaison Committee.

He is also the Executive Director of the Cordoba Centre for Civic Engagement and Leadership, a collective that promotes service, dialogue and understanding among peoples of various cultures and faiths; a member of the Muslim Advisory Board, Emmanuel College and the Managing Editor of the online Canadian Muslim magazine, IQRA.ca.

Educated at the University of Toronto and University of Guelph, Muneeb also has Professional Certification in Not-for-Profit Management and in Interfaith Understanding.

Naeem Siddiqi – Vice Chair

Naeem Siddiqi started his work with the Olive Tree Foundation as member of the Grants Committee in 2004. He joined the Board of Directors in 2012.

His community work includes serving on the board of the Canadian Muslim Civil Liberties Association as Communication Director, member of National Shura with CAIR-CAN. He is also a mentor with TRIEC’s Mentoring Partnership and a Scout Troop Leader at the 163rd IIT Scouts Group.

Naeem is a global product manager for banking analytics solutions at a software company, and has worked in financial risk management industry for the past 20 years. He has a BEng(Hons) Civil Engineering degree form Imperial College of Science and technology at the University of London and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Muhammed H. Ali – Treasurer

Muhammed Haseeb Ali joined the Olive Tree Foundation shortly after it was formed in 2004. He is a Chartered Accountant and serves as the Treasurer of the organization. In addition to his financial expertise,

Haseeb plays an instrumental role in identifying and setting corporate strategy for the Foundation as well as investment planning.

Haseeb has a BBA and an MBA from York University and his professional experience includes International Tax with the federal government of Canada.  Haseeb is an active volunteer in the community and lives with his family in Markham, Ontario.
